Magnificent Shropshire period country house.

Set in elegant landscaped gardens has been revitalised with thoughtful decorating choices to reflect its owners love of classic English style . A neglected, laundry room, back hallway and family games room has been brought back to life, creating a relaxed stylish and inviting tv room for all the family to enjoy.

Comfort, elegance and practicality.

All key requirements for a successful everyday sitting room. The brief was to create a comfortable sitting room which could also be used for family time when playing board games and watching tv. It was important to blend the outside and inside smoothly and continue with the real English country house feel. Colour has played a key role in the transformation. Where there was once magnolia, yellow and peach coloured pine there is now a palette of Zoffany muted greens, greys, golds and blues which returns the house to its roots and compliments the new flooring. The curtain pole and trimmings were coloured and made to compliment the beautiful embroidered fabric.

The layout was planned to provide plenty of comfortable seating for the family of five.

 The bespoke cabinetry to frame the chimney breast, house books  and the television also serves as wonderful secret doorway to the back entrance hall and cloakroom.

I love to use natural and traditional fabrics, so the sofas are upholstered in a linen. I wanted to imbue comfort, the fabrics in the cushions are soft and cosy. Cushions are a wonderful way to inject colour and texture to a room. I always layer cushion and mix fabrics so that a sofa feels eclectic and inviting.
